As the 4th of July Holiday approaches, District 3 would like to share the following message and attached flyer with our communities: “Fireworks are illegal in Denver, celebrate responsibly!
The 4th of July is just around the corner and we know that many of you are already planning your celebrations. As you prepare for the holiday, we want to remind you to celebrate safely.
- If you plan to consume adult goods or beverages, please do so responsibly and remember to designate a safe ride home.
- Also, please know that fireworks are illegal in Denver. If you want to report the use, possession or sale, you can do so by calling our fireworks hotline at 720-913-2059. In order for an officer to take an action, i.e. cite those using, possessing or selling fireworks, you will need to agree to meet with the responding officer and willing to sign a complaint.
- If your fireworks complaint involves a fire, an injury or an altercation, please call 911.
- Lastly, please refrain from discharging weapons as part of your celebration. Celebratory gunfire is not only extremely dangerous, but it’s illegal. That “celebratory” bullet will land somewhere and it could result in unnecessary injury or death. If you are caught in the act, you can be arrested for unlawful discharge of a weapon, could face civil penalties where action could be taken against your property or worse.”
Wishing Everyone a Safe and Fun 4th of July!
