All Denver Motor Vehicle locations will re-open for in-person transactions on Monday, June 29, 2020.
Customers will notice physical and process changes implemented to protect both customers and staff from potential COVID-19 exposure including:
- Glass dividers at all customer-facing windows
- Physical distancing cues to help customers observe social distancing
- Increased cleaning frequency for high traffic areas
- Hand sanitizer for staff and clients, face masks for all staff and for clients who forget their mask, and other protective measures
Lobby areas must remain at a safe capacity. Once clients check-in at the facility, DMV staff will use a text messaging system to alert clients when it is their time to enter the building. Please bring a cell phone or mobile device to enable text notifications.
Additionally, dropboxes have been installed at all DMV branch locations. Clients with completed paperwork who are paying by check can place their information into the dropbox and staff will process and send the updated registration within 3-4 business days.
Many transactions can be completed online! You may continue to use online, mail, and phone options for renewals, new registrations, disability placards, and other transactions. Visit mydmv.colorado.gov.
The City is providing a grace period for expired registrations through July 31, 2020. Denver Police Department and Denver Right of Way Enforcement will not issue citations for expired tags during this time.
