Police, West Metro investigate suspicious fire - #lakewoodnews

The Lakewood Police Department and the West Metro Fire Department are investigating a suspicious fire that occurred early on April 12.

Shortly after 3 a.m. on the 12th, Lakewood Police and West Metro Fire received calls indicating a duplex in the 5600 block of West Fifth Avenue was on fire. At least two vehicles in front of the residence were also heavily damaged by the fire.

There were reports of as many as 14 people who were inside the duplex when it caught fire. All were able to get out without any major injuries.

Detectives began their investigation and suspected arson may have been involved. Following up on leads developed, they responded to an address in Aurora on East Rice Circle. At the address they contacted a man who detectives will now question to determine if he has information and/or involvement in the case.
