Common Cents: Inside Your State Budget

A Message and video from State Senator Chris Hansen:
I am excited to introduce you all to a new video series that Senator Moreno and I have put together called Common Cents: Inside Your State Budget.  We started this series to bring you the very latest from the state budget process.  As caring and engaged citizens and taxpayers, you deserve transparency and a clear view of how your tax dollars are being allocated.

In fiscal year 2020-21, Colorado passed a $30.3 billion budget.  Where did that money come from?  Where did that money go?  How much will the budget be for fiscal year 2021-2022?  In each episode, we will help answer these questions by breaking down a key issue relating to the finances of Colorado.

This week, Senator Moreno and I are addressing the Special Session.  Specifically, we aim to shed light on the $342 million dollars that we passed for COVID relief. We would love to hear your feedback, so please reach out to let us know what you would like to see covered in coming weeks.
