Laws was driving westbound on Lee Hill Drive in a 2014 Volvo station wagon when he turned left in front of 39-year-old Alejandro Acosta, who was bicycling eastbound. Laws crashed into Acosta, killing him.
It happened around 6:15 pm on July 15. Colorado State Patrol found both were traveling within the posted speed limit, and drugs and alcohol were not a factor, according to the DA’s Office.
Laws faces arrangement on Jan 13.
Residents along Lee Hill Drive have told FOX31 the road is popular among cyclists, but it does not have the safety infrastructure to accommodate them.
