The community-owned Hyland Hills Water World opened for the 37th season of summer fun over Memorial Day weekend.
Named as one of the Best Water Parks in America by the Travel Channel, Water World offers 50 attractions on a conveniently located 70-acre site in the North Metro region. Guests can soak up some rays, be lazy on the river or speed down one of the many world-class water slide attractions.
This year, the park is introducing two new attractions appealing to both the novice and more thrill-seeking swimmers. Cowabunga Beach and Turtle Bay will be put on public display during a grand opening ceremony June 8 and, along with Warp Speed, opened last year, mark the second and third new attractions in the last two years.
Opened in 1979, Water World offers more than 12,500 feet of water slides, uses up to 2,500 inner tubes at a time and has for more than 37 years employed 20,000 local workers, including teens and youth.
