West Metro firefighters saved a 5-year-old girl who was hiding in a bedroom closet after a fire broke out in the early morning on Sept. 9.
The five-year-old and her father were taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, according to information provided by the district.
The fire broke out just after midnight Thursday at the family's home at 9921 W. Vassar Way. The emergency call came in at 12:27 a.m.
Firefighters David Dame and Seth Major arrived and ran into the house. Using thermal-imaging cameras, they were able to locate the girl in the closet. From the time the firetruck arrived, it took the two firefighters less than 40 second to get the girl out of the house. She did not suffer any burns.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
