Lakewood police are investigating an assault on an RTD bus that occurred in the early morning of Sept. 8.
The event happened shortly after 5 a.m. on the RTD Route 16 bus, heading east on Colfax.
The suspect boarded the bus and was told by the driver he needed to pay the fare. In response, the suspect assaulted the driver, causing injuries including breaking the driver's nose, police said.
The suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches, thin build, wearing a gray hoodie with the hood up.
