The Jefferson County district attorney's office's Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations (CHEEZO) unit helped catch a Colorado Springs man accused of sexual exploitation of a child on the Internet.
Dylan David Kern, 23, was arrested on April 26 in Colorado Springs.
On April 22, Kern contacted a Jefferson County investigator who was portraying himself as a female child under the age of 15 on a social networking site.
According to the arrest affidavit, Kern sent a photo of his naked genitalia to the person he believed to be an underage teen, and requested similar photos be sent to him. He also mentioned he could go into the custodial closet at Woodmen Hills Elementary School in Falcon, which is in unincorporated El Paso County and where he worked as a janitor, to take more photos.
Kern is being held in the Jefferson County jail.
